Dec 30, 2023 Race Update

Dear Norpine Fat Bike Classic Riders,

Well folks, the snow is a no show. But you don’t have to be! Because we’re still throwing a fat bike race!

The recent rain and above freezing temps have left the trails on the main course unrideable. But fat bike racing isn’t just about dashing through the snow, it’s about gathering in the wintertime with friends to ride bikes and have fun.

So in lieu of canceling the race, we searched the area highand low and we have found a small loop of trail that is rideable. This year the Norpine Fat Bike Classic will take on a criterium format. The distances are a little shorter, the climbing is a little higher, and the terrain is absolutely stunning.

The race still starts and ends at Cascade Lodge.

Here are the details:

There are some small sections of trail that may be icy, so studded tires are recommended, however, they are not mandatory.

Bringing the family along? We could use a few more volunteers, and volunteering gets you a plate at the BBQ! Sign up here.

Thank you for attending the Norpine Fat Bike Classic! This fundraising event is the main source of funding for Norpine ski trails and a substantial contribution to Cook County mountain bike trails and fat bike grooming.
